Our Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, governance, and stewardship to ensure that the Foundation remains focused on its mission of supporting families, sharing stories, creating hope, and encouraging healing.

Together, we bring diverse experiences in the arts, education, business, healthcare, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement to help build a future where no family faces these challenges alone.

Gregory Lee

Founder & Chairperson

Gregory Lee is a dedicated community leader, mentor, and advocate whose life has been defined by service to others. After a distinguished 33-year career with Con Edison of New York, where he worked as a high-voltage lineman and leader in one of the nation's largest utility companies, Gregory retired with a reputation for hard work, integrity, and commitment to excellence. Throughout his life, Gregory has devoted countless hours to nonprofit and community service, serving in leadership roles and supporting initiatives that strengthen families and uplift underserved communities. Passionate about mentoring young people, he has spent years encouraging youth to recognize their potential, overcome obstacles, and pursue lives of purpose and achievement. A compassionate advocate for mental health awareness, Gregory is committed to providing strength, hope, and practical support to individuals and families facing emotional and mental health challenges. Drawing from both personal experience and a deep belief in the power of community, he works tirelessly to ensure that those who are struggling know they are seen, valued, and never alone. As a co-founder of the Beyond the Noise Foundation, Gregory helps advance the organization's mission to support families navigating teen mental health crises through education, advocacy, storytelling, and access to resources. His steady leadership, servant's heart, and unwavering dedication to helping others continue to inspire all who know him.

Natasha Yvette Williams

Natasha Yvette Williams

Founder & Vice Chair

NaTasha Yvette Williams is a Tony Award-nominated actress, Grammy Award-winning artist, educator, producer, and advocate whose career spans Broadway, television, film, and community service. Her Broadway credits include The Color Purple, Chicago, Waitress, Wicked, and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical. She has also appeared on television in FBI, Grey's Anatomy, Harlem, Godfather of Harlem, New Amsterdam, and Partner Track. Beyond the stage, Natasha is deeply committed to service and mentorship. She is a founder member of Black Theatre United, where she supports initiatives focused on equity, education, and opportunity within the theater industry. Inspired by her family's personal journey through mental health challenges, NaTasha founded the Beyond the Noise Foundation to provide resources, hope, and support to families navigating teen mental health crises. Through storytelling, advocacy, education, and community engagement, she is dedicated to helping families find connection, healing, and a path forward. NaTasha believes that the arts have the power to transform lives, build understanding, and remind us that no one has to face life's challenges alone.

Minister Carolyn Armstrong

In addition to ministry, Carolyn serves as a teacher where she has been committed to creating a positive learning environment that supports both academic and personal growth for over 15 years. Carolyn is an advocate and through her work in education, and compassionate outreach, she partners with others to raise awareness, provide resources, and ensures that every young person knows that they are seen, heard, and valued. Carolyn's life work is centered on serving others, with a passion for empowering the next generation. Through her ministry, she has the privilege of working closely with young people, providing spiritual guidance, mentorship, and encouragement as they navigate life's challenges. Her mission is to inspire hope, build character, and help young people discover their purpose while strengthening their faith and confidence. Serving on the board of Beyond the Noise Foundation has broadened Carolyn's environment and strengthened her commitment of being a voice for hope and healing. Carolyn believes that every member of our community has a role to play in supporting young people and helping them overcome life's challenges, whether through volunteering, mentoring, partnering with the foundation, or simply raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. Each person can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can create a community where every young person feels supported, valued, and empowered to look forward to a brighter future. Carolyn wants to help end the silence and make a lasting impact on our community.

Dr. Traci F. Gardner is a respected pediatrician, educator, and lifelong advocate for children and families. Throughout her distinguished career in Westchester County, New York, she has dedicated herself to improving the health, well-being, and future of young people through compassionate medical care, education, and community engagement. Her work has always been guided by a deep commitment to ensuring that every child has access to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to thrive. A passionate champion for children's physical, emotional, and mental well-being, Dr. Gardner has spent her life advocating for young people both inside and outside of the healthcare setting. Her dedication to service, prevention, and family-centered care aligns closely with the mission of the Beyond the Noise Foundation. As a member of the Beyond the Noise Foundation team, Dr. Gardner brings decades of experience, wisdom, and unwavering compassion to the organization's efforts to support youth and families navigating mental health challenges. She is honored to contribute to a mission that promotes hope, healing, and resilience for the next generation.

Nicole Lee

Nicole Lee is a dedicated professional, mentor, and community advocate with a passion for service and empowering young people. A graduate of Winston-Salem State University, she began her career with the company Newark, where she gained valuable experience serving diverse communities and supporting public initiatives. For the past ten years, she has built a successful career with Regeneron, bringing a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration to her work. Throughout her professional journey, she has remained deeply invested in giving back to her community and creating opportunities for others to thrive. Her involvement with the Beyond the Noise Foundation allows her to unite her professional experience with her personal passion for service. She is especially committed to supporting young people and families facing challenges, helping to foster resilience, hope, and meaningful connections. Through her work with Beyond the Noise, she is proud to contribute to a mission that promotes mental health awareness, provides critical resources, and reminds families that they do not have to navigate difficult times alone. Driven by compassion, purpose, and a desire to make a lasting impact, she is honored to serve as part of the Beyond the Noise Foundation team.

Dr. Angela McLaurin

Dr. Angela McLaurin

Treasurer

Dr. Angela McLaurin is a nurse educator at a HBCU and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner; residing in Fayetteville, NC. She holds a MSN from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a PhD from Capella University. With over 30 years’ experience in healthcare and nearly 10 years in higher education (including co-investigator grant work), Dr. McLaurin is dedicated to improving the synergy between physical and mental wellness. She is a mentor to many young adults within her university nursing community and is always willing to help youth and young adults alike be the best and confident version of themselves. Dr. McLaurin is bonded and has proven experience with non-profit/charitable organizations operational budgets, bookkeeping and accounting. This fiscal savvy makes Dr. McLaurin a sound choice to serve Beyond the Noise Foundation – in trust and integrity – with the generosity from our donors.

Dr. Victoria Privott

Director

Dr. Victoria M. Privott is Founder and CEO of Robin's Way Consulting, an equity-centered educational leadership firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. With 27+ years in K-12 education as a teacher, principal, and consultant, she has a track record of turning around underperforming schools, raising student achievement at every level she's led, and closing long-standing academic achievement gaps. She holds an Ed.D. from NC State University, where her doctoral research examined why schools often know what students need but struggle to act on it. She brings expertise in student voice, social-emotional learning, and storytelling as a leadership tool which she explored in her TEDx Charlotte talk on what children are trying to tell us, and what changes when adults actually listen. She founded the Wake County Women of Color Network and developed Voices 2 Action Roundtables, a replicable framework for building real student and family voice into school decision-making, piloted in partnership with a major urban school district. Dr. Privott joins Beyond the Noise Foundation's board, drawn to the Foundation's belief that story, not just data, is what moves people from watching to acting and is eager to help ensure children's voices and agency are part of that story.

Tameka Williams, LPN

Secretary

A licensed Practical Nurse with more than 26 years of diverse clinical experience spanning Mother–Baby, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), pediatric, developmental disability (DD/IDD), corrections, and substance use rehabilitation settings. The past 5 years working as a Nurse specialist focusing on advancing excellence in care through staff development and education, she currently designs and delivers engaging, evidence-based training programs that strengthen clinical competency, promote best practices, and support exceptional patient outcomes. Known for compassionate, patient-centered care, collaborative leadership, and a steadfast commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. Tameka will take all of her training and compassion into service of Beyond The Noise Foundation.

Reverend David Williams was a retired licensed clinical social worker who spent 27 years as the Director of Adult Services at the Cumberland County Mental Health Center in Fayetteville, NC, retiring in 2005. He was also an ordained minister who earned his Master of Divinity from Shaw Divinity School. Former Pastor of Shiloh UCC in Fayetteville, NC, Arches Grove UCC in Burlington, NC and First Congregational Church in Troy, NC. Prior to joining the ministry Rev. Williams was a proud Marine. He spent all of his adult life serving God, his country, and serving families.
